Choosing the right bridesmaid dress is an important task because their dress should complement the bride’s dress. While shopping for bridesmaid dresses, many brides consider style, color scheme and overall comfort to be the most important aspects.
In my view, it’s really important to buy the dresses according to the seasons. An outdoor wedding during the summer calls for a dress made of light fabrics. Some other materials that are ideal for beach and outdoor weddings are silk, organza, georgette, crepe and chiffon. Informal weddings can also include printed or patterned bridesmaid’s dresses in lighter fabrics.
For winter weddings, bridesmaids’ gowns are usually made of heavier fabrics like velvet, brocade, cashmere, or heavy satin. Satin is a popular fabric and its tone stands out among other fabrics. Dark colored bridesmaids’ dresses might be preferred in the winter while cooler and lighter colors are preferred in summer.
In my experience, length of the dress is also very important. Tea length or short dresses are ideal for an outdoor wedding while that same dress might not give the right look if it’s worn at a winter or formal wedding. Browsing bridesmaid dresses on the internet has made it very easy to find the perfect color and design.
